We have five beehives, which we manage along with the Gold Coast Regional Beekeepers Inc. These have proven to be an interesting activity.

Our members and the GCRB strip the hives approximately every 2-3 months and about 30kg of honey is produced. The honey is packaged and sold to members and the public.

We have two sets of protective equipment but any member who is allergic to bee stings should not participate near the beehives, and they should carry any necessary antidote in case of a sting (The Workshop is also equipped with the necessary antidote medication).

The Gold Coast Amateur Beekeeping Society was instrumental in helping us start up our own beehives and they are always available to assist us if needed.
