Being a Veterans Support Group site, all commemorative services are held in front of our Memorial Wall and the Australian National Flag, Navy, Army and Air Force ensigns are flown simultaneously. Members of the public are welcome to attend any of the commemorative services. This Memorial Wall also allows members to reflect in their own way and in their own time.

Members regularly volunteer to run sausage sizzle fund raisers which are only possible through the generosity of Bunnings making the site available. This is always a fun day and allows for interfacing with the general public on a friendly basis while also assisting the workshop to raise essential funding.

We regularly invite qualified community members and organisations to give presentations to our members on matters such as prostate cancer, heart and exercise. Through a grant in 2014 and again in 2019, we were able to graduate several members and some members of the community through a St John’s First Aid Course.

The workshop has been assisting in the up-skilling, supervising and mentoring of the long term unemployed, (currently suspended due to covid 19) both male and female, for 3-4 years and it is with great satisfaction that we see quite a lot of these people eventually able to obtain suitable permanent employment. We also provide support and mentoring for young people in conjunction with the Gold Coast Youth Justice Service Centre.
