202raffle

IT’S ON AGAIN !!! As part of our current fundraising program we intend to run another Sailing Dinghy raffle which proved to be successful when we staged it three years ago, raising close to nine thousand dollars in support of our war Veterans.

Unfortunately, the Shed closure due to the Pandemic had delayed the completion of the Dinghy & our scheduled starting date, but thankfully we are now back on track & ticket sales will commence as soon as possible through till the Raffle drawing date anticipated to be in December. (Depending on Covid 19 restrictions).

To enable our support group to fund this event we have been able in part to secure a number of Business Sponsors who have great respect for our War Veterans. Companies like Swiftco Trailer & Marine, Gold Coast, who kindly donated a fully registered Boat trailer & Intersail Australia who donated the sail. As members of our organisation, these are the businesses we need to thank as they are loyal supporters to our cause. Another vote of thanks also goes to the Shopping Centre Managers & business for allowing us to stage the display at their premises for the duration of the Raffle.

The Sailing Dinghy we are raffling is based off a 1908 design by Icon NZ boatbuilder/designer Jack Logan & was the Tender for “Raweene” the last Logan Brothers built Yacht. Our Dinghy has been Professionally built by Shed Members Don Lees, Bill Rosenberg & Ken Swainson who have spent countless hours during the construction. The value of the completed Boat & Registered Trailer is estimated to be $10,500.

The funds raised from the Raffle will benefit Vietnam Veterans & their families & we encourage all Veterans, Shed members & their friends to support this worthy event when tickets become available; by contacting …
